Medical schools use technology like X-ray machines to produce medical images.
In fact, just a few years ago there was no way to know if you had an X-ray machine. Now the medical industry is making these medical images available to consumers. This has been done for the last several years by companies like Siemens, who have been developing computerized imaging systems for the medical industry. We’ll get into the details of how the medical industry is using computers in the next section.
Siemens has been working on these systems since the early 1990s, first building out an image processing system for a medical center in Pittsburgh.
