And yet, while tech companies like Apple and Google may be able to “take a shot,” the fact remains that they are still in the same position as all other companies in the world. They are not in the business of making things, they are in the business of selling.
Our current focus in this series is the next level of competition. We’ve had success in the last three weeks at Apple, Google, and Facebook, but we’ll be back with a new focus at a new level of competition for the next three weeks.
Apple, Google, and Facebook. If we continue to focus on these companies, we can hope that we can continue to see the same success. But we’re not there yet.
Apple, Google, and Facebook have built very sophisticated, sophisticated products which are completely useless to anyone without the tech. And they have always had a strong focus on improving these products. Even when they were not being built to compete against each other, their focus was to develop the next version. In fact, they are the very companies who are now competing against each other.
When you look at the competition, you see that each of them is trying to make a better version of all of the others products. They are trying to create something which is better than the others, because that was the original motivation. Each of them is trying to create something “special.” You can look at it that way, it makes sense. But as an example, let’s look at Apple.
The company makes iPhone and iPod Touch products. They are the largest company in the world. They are the only company with a product which is a complete, usable, working product. There are no competitors who can compete with Apple. The Apple product line is the company’s exclusive property, the only way they can make money. If you want to buy a product, you have to buy an Apple product. If you want to sell a product, you have to sell Apple products.
I see this every day. Every few months, I find myself checking my smartphone for some update to Apple’s iOS. I’m not the only one. Many people who have bought an Apple device have been disappointed when they find that they can’t use one of their phones. Because of the platform, they’re forced to use a different one, which is more expensive, less functional, or less powerful.
That’s the exact opposite of what you want. The platform has given us the ability to use apps that are much more sophisticated than those of the iPhone and iPad, but the more sophisticated apps can’t compete with and/or replace the iPhone and iPad. Apple is not a monopoly.
In a way it is a tragedy that people have to do whatever they want whenever they want, but the truth is that it can be a good thing. The iPhone is a great phone, but its platform is not a monopoly and it is constantly being updated. The people who develop the apps are constantly competing with each other to create the next great new app.
In every game, you have to have a strategy. In the same way that you have to win a game with your best players, you have to win a game because that is the strategy that you want to play.
