The best part about my yoga classes is that I really get to know my students. Over the years, I have gotten to know each and every one of them. Whether I’ve spent hours with them doing stretching, breathing techniques, or even just talking, I have found that I really like getting to know them as individuals. Every student I’ve met, no matter if they are beginner or seasoned yogis, has been someone I have truly connected with.

Yoga is a great way to connect with yourself and your friends because it teaches you how to observe yourself and others. One of the best things about yoga is that it not only helps your body breathe better but helps your mind breathe better. By paying attention to your body’s movements you can start to notice your mind changing so you can then start to notice your body moving in new ways. Yoga is not really about breathing, it is about breath and mind. If you practice yoga, you will notice you are breathing differently. If you aren’t using your diaphragm to pump air in and out of your tummy it’s obvious to anyone. If you are breathing in and out with your diaphragm you are breathing in and out of your mind.

I think it is interesting that the word yoga in the title is a Sanskrit word for “breath.” This means that you are breathing in and out, and not really just through the lungs, which is really what it means.
